12 day total immersion UK Permaculture Association accredited Permaculture Design Course

This PDC at Carraig Dúlra Permaculture, embraces head, heart and hands-on learning, offering a transformative and immersive educational experience at this 4 acre Permaculture small-holding in the South East of Ireland.
The interconnection of our carefully chosen tutor team provides a diversity of perspectives from living examples of “Permaculture in practice”. Their years of experience and wisdom weaves together with all the Permaculture theory and design you would expect from the core curriculum of a UK Permaculture Association accredited Permaculture design course.
Course fee is on a sliding scale:
Standard fee (waged): €1000 // €1200 good waged // €800 low waged //
There are also a limited number of places for unwaged people at €600; these are funded by the standard and good wage fees above.
Carraig Dúlra is an approved training provider with Irish social welfare. Irish residents in receipt of a social welfare payment may be eligible for a training grant for the PDC from their local social welfare office of up to €500. Get in touch with us and your local office as early as possible as processing these grants takes from 4-6 weeks depending on the office. The carefully designed education environment of Carraig Dúlra, the tutor team and course content will empower you to apply Permaculture design to your own garden, household, farm, business, community project and even your own life path.
This course is fully accredited by the UK Permaculture Association Permaculture Association Britain, which means that on successful completion of the course participants will be awarded an internationally recognised Permaculture Design Certificate which will enable you todevelop your practice as a Permaculture design consultant, or educator through your own practice and with the option of continuing your professional development via a Diploma in Permaculture design
Back again for the third time by popular demand -this Introduction to Permaculture workshop in Co. Mayo focuses on working with so-called 'marginal' land.

Permaculture in the city -Galway
A one day introduction workshop on Permaculture in Galway City Centre.... With tutors Hannah Mole and Istvan Markuly. On 18th February.
The day will offer an introduction to the what and the how of Permaculture, an overview of the main concepts, principles and patterns used in Permaculture design and an introduction to using applied Permaculture techniques, including 'Social Permaculture', in an urban setting.
It will be of benefit to anyone wanting to understand the basics of Permaculture, and anyone looking to use Permaculture to design and ecologically manage a piece of land at any scale be it in homes, balconies, small gardens, urban farms, roof tops as well as wider community and commercial spaces.
You will learn how to see your project from a Permaculture perspective; to think in patterns, to best identify and place elements in your project for maximum efficiency, and to make the most of natural, human and potential urban resources around you.
This workshop is an introduction to Permaculture, all are welcome to join us and no prior permaculture or gardening knowledge is required for this course

'Small-scale intensive systems; including plant stacking and time stacking'
A hands on, Action-led, 'Perma-blitz' style workshop in the home-scale food garden.
Focussing on set-up and maintenance of productive perennial plant systems.
Helping to implement phase-three of the establishment of the perennial aspect in the home food garden (including forest garden).
The Overall Aim Is for participants to gain an understanding & hands-on experience of the mindset behind an intentionally designed perennial permaculture food garden. Thus enabling you to create and maintain your own garden.
My sub agenda is to use the concentrated human-power onsite to bring the garden to the next level of the design.
No prior permaculture or gardening knowledge is required for this course.
What will you learn?
What is this 'Action-led learning' craic?
Being outside, getting guided hands-on experience in the field, instruction, the opportunity to do the task at hand, asking questions 'on the job', absorbing the knowledge & skills in a very practical way, being empowered by physically doing... Listening, Doing, Questionning & Reflecting.
So, Please note, this is a very out-door, practical course, hence the name! Bring boots, wellies, and warm, waterproof clothing (just in case!). Expect at least 75% hands-on learning in the garden.
