Next week! Sunday 19th November
Permaculture Design is an ethical approach to planning and creating more sustainable ways of living. It's focus is on thoughtful arrangement of elements on a site for best functionality, efficient resource use, maximum resource production and minimum energy inputs!
It also offers a holistic way of thinking and seeing the world around us as completely interconnected, as such it is used in many contexts- education, community, health, land stewardship, and so on, - it really is a new-old practical paradigm shift!
This 1 day workshop will be based mainly on land based application of Permaculture design, it will offer a pragmatic introduction to the what and the how of Permaculture; an overview of the main concepts and principles and patterns involved and how to use them.
It will be of interest to
anyone wanting to understand the basics of Permaculture,
those looking to use Permaculture to design and ecologically manage a piece of land at any scale be it garden, farm, community or commercial
and those who work (or play!) in related areas that could integrate this approach such as landscaping, gardening, farming, waste management etc...
We will focus on getting to grips with the foundational principles, where they come from, how they are applied to a project
and some key design considerations that together will enable you to see your project from a Permaculture perspective; to think in patterns, to best place elements in your project for maximum efficiency, and to make the most of natural resources, and to work with rather than against nature.
It will be interactive, lighthearted, informative and applicable.
